Here's a shot of the Beavertail Lighthouse with the surrounding rocks in a warm glow from the sun.
The Conanicut Lighthouse on Jamestown isn't much of a lighthouse now that the light was taken. It was also difficult to take this photo, as there was no place to park. I really liked the clouds on this day.
It was a rather gloomy day so I set out to drive to the coast to catch some boats, but as I found my way to Narragansett I realized the clouds off the coast weren't very gloomy at all. So I headed over to the Pt Judith Lighthouse. While driving near the lighthouse I noticed a woman walking down a dirt road, and I thought it might be a good location to get some shots from. Boy was I right! Checkout the RI Lighthouse Gallery for more.
A shot of the Plum Beach Lighthouse from a sailboat. The lighthouse is right next to the Jamestown Bridge so it can be difficult to get a photo of it without anything behind it. The only way to get a decent photo is to come up real close.
The Poplar Point Lighthouse is a private residence in North Kingstown, RI. It's best seen from a boat, although if you can find a way to walk along the shore it is possible to walk down the rock barrier. But the view isn't the same.
This photo reminds me of the enjoyment of sailing around the Plum Beach Lighthouse. Just a relaxing sail.
The Friends of Plum Beach Lighthouse celebrated a historic moment, when, for the first time in 6 decades, the American Flag was raised on the lighthouse. This and recent renovations were made possible by the PBL License Plates, as a portion of each sale went directly to fixing up the lighthouse!
